Quick Facts

  • Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is a federal Crown corporation and the leading financial services provider for Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector.
  • The project supported FCC’s data modernization efforts during a large-scale AWS cloud migration initiative.
  • Bronson provided expert data engineering and data modeling services across two contracts, focusing on ETL automation, data quality, and scalable reporting.
  • Outcomes included faster and more reliable data delivery, improved governance, and readiness for AI-powered forecasting and analytics.

Project Description

Farm Credit Canada partnered with Bronson to modernize its enterprise data architecture in alignment with its AWS cloud migration strategy.

As part of a multi-stream initiative under a broader data transformation program, Bronson deployed a senior data resource across two contracts to support FCC in designing scalable data pipelines, optimizing data quality, and enabling robust business intelligence and AI-driven forecasting capabilities.

The engagement brought together deep AWS expertise, strong stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on implementation of enterprise-grade data architecture — all geared toward ensuring FCC’s analytics infrastructure was future-ready, reliable, and value-aligned.

Business Challenge

FCC’s transition to cloud-native operations brought new opportunities for improved analytics, automation, and cross-functional reporting—but also presented complex challenges in modernizing legacy ETL processes, migrating workloads to AWS, and maintaining strong data governance across teams.

To succeed, FCC required:

  • Cloud-optimized data pipeline design for both prototyping and production.
  • Stakeholder-aligned solutions that translated technical complexity into business value.
  • Scalable reporting solutions using AWS tools like QuickSight.
  • A consistent framework for data modeling, integration, and quality control.

The challenge was to bridge legacy systems and cloud innovation, while ensuring long-term reliability and operational efficiency.

Our Solution and Outcome

Bronson provided a senior technical consultant who worked closely with FCC’s internal data teams and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable data solutions. The approach emphasized modularity, maintainability, and reuse, with clear communication and documentation practices throughout.

Key services included:

  • ETL Design and Automation – Developed and optimized ETL jobs using AWS Glue, Python, Pyspark, and SQL for high-volume, high-integrity data transformation.
  • Cloud Integration – Leveraged AWS Redshift, Lambda, and Glue for seamless orchestration and migration of enterprise data sources.
  • Data Quality Frameworks – Implemented data validation, anomaly detection, and consistency checks to reduce business risk.
  • Self-Service Analytics – Created automated reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight to support real-time decision-making across departments.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement – Facilitated requirements gathering, technical troubleshooting, and solution presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Modeling & Architecture – Built scalable data warehouse models and documented architectures aligned with business needs and analytics goals.

Bronson’s support empowered FCC to accelerate its cloud transformation while improving the performance, reliability, and transparency of its enterprise data systems. The work delivered:

  • Stronger alignment between business goals and technical implementation.
  • Streamlined, automated pipelines that support faster, cleaner data delivery.
  • Enhanced governance through traceability, monitoring, and anomaly detection.
  • Readiness for future compliance and reporting requirements across business units.

The result is a more agile, insight-driven organization positioned to harness its data assets for forecasting, modeling, and growth.
