Project Description

Bronson was tasked by Natural Resources Canada to produce the 2022 ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report; a publicly available report that highlights the activities and accomplishments of the ENERGY STAR Canada program. The ENERGY STAR program is a voluntary government-industry partnership, managed and delivered by Natural Resources Canada; it was introduced in Canada in 2002. The 2011-2012 ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report was the first ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report and it described the success of the initiative since 2002. Following the re-introduction of the Report in 2021 in which Bronson was also responsible for initiating, Bronson was tasked to produce a report to highlight the ENERGY STAR accomplishments of the 2022 fiscal year. To initiate this assignment, Bronson conducted a thorough review of previous ENERGY STAR reports, documentation, and surveys and worked closely with the Project Authority and other departmental representatives of ENERGY STAR programs managed and delivered by Natural Resources Canada, to establish in-scope content for the 2022 Annual Report. Bronson developed an information collection template that sought departmental input on key ENERGY STAR accomplishments, activities and metrics during. The information supplied in the completed templates along with additional information captured through Bronson-led consultations formed the foundation of the 2022 Annual Report. Bronson was responsible for weaving all collected information into a narrative suitable for a public audience complete with graphics and other formatting features designed to add interest and variety to the content. The 2022 Annual Report was developed iteratively following review and input from the Project Authority and other key departmental stakeholders.

Business Challenge

Following the success of the 2021 ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report, Bronson was tasked with producing the 2022 report to highlight accomplishments from the 2022 fiscal year. Bronson was challenged to produce a report with a similar look and feel and with similar content to the 2021 report but with a fresh and unique approach.

Our Solution and Outcome

Bronson conducted a thorough review of ENERGY STAR reports, documentation, and surveys to gain insight into potential content for the report and to inform the development of an information collection template. Bronson also worked closely with the Project Authority and other departmental representatives of ENERGY STAR programs managed and delivered by Natural Resources Canada, to establish in-scope content for the 2022 Annual Report.
