Project Description
Bronson developed the 2021 ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report; a publicly available report that highlights the activities and accomplishments of the ENERGY STAR Canada program, a voluntary government-industry partnership, managed and delivered by Natural Resources Canada.
Business Challenge
The ENERGY STAR program was introduced in Canada in 2002. The 2011-2012 ENERGY STAR in Canada Annual Report was the first ENERGY STAR in Canada annual report and it described the success of the initiative since 2002. Following the inaugural report, Natural Resources Canada published an annual report four years in a row, ending with 2016. Bronson was tasked with producing the first annual report in five years to focus not only the activities and accomplishments of the ENERGY STAR in Canada program during 2021, but to capture successes and accomplishments of the program during the intervening years of 2017-2020.
Our Solution and Outcome
To initiate this assignment, Bronson conducted a thorough review of previous ENERGY STAR in Canada annual reports and a variety of other departmental reports to gain insight into potential content for the report and to inform the development of an information collection template. Bronson also worked closely with the Project Authority and other departmental representatives of ENERGY STAR programs managed and delivered by Natural Resources Canada, to establish in-scope content for the 2021 Annual Report. Bronson developed an information collection template that sought departmental input on key ENERGY STAR accomplishments, activities and metrics during 2021 and also during the gap years of 2017-2020. The information supplied in the completed templates along with additional information captured through Bronson-led consultations formed the foundation of the 2021 Annual Report. Bronson was responsible for weaving all collected information into a narrative suitable for a public audience complete with graphics and other formatting features designed to add interest and variety to the content. The 2021 Annual Report was developed iteratively following review and input from the Project Authority and other key departmental stakeholders.
